WHO IS ELIGIBLE TO APPLY:

UIC undergraduate students who are COMMITTED to pursuing a career in tech, regardless of your class standing. While most of our Sprinterns major or minor in computer science, data science, CS & linguistics or other UIC tech disciplines, we also include students who have chosen to major in non-tech disciplines and have a strong interest in a tech career.

Tech includes jobs in coding, software engineering, information technology, artificial intelligence, data science, business analytics, data visualization & reporting and other technical applications.

Here are some advantages of the Sprinternship™  program:
  • Sprinternships work for students of any class standing! Our data show that holding a Sprinternship™ gives you a 10x greater chance of being offered a full-summer tech internship
  • A Sprinternship™ allows you to see how a real company handles tech questions and how you will use the skills you’re building at UIC.
  • You will be paid.
  • You can still do other things over the summer! You can complete a Sprinternship and then have June, July, and August open for jobs or other pursuits.

You must submit your application by Friday, March 20, 2026 at 11:59 pm to be considered.

If you are selected to move to the final application round, you will receive an email from sprinternships@uic.edu in April with next steps.
